Shale top scorer at Wangaratta
A scorching hot day didn’t slow down the brilliant performance of young shooter Adam Shale at Wangaratta Clay Target Club’s January 5 Stand Sporting Clay Championship event. Considering the uncomfortably hot conditions some excellent scores were recorded by the dedicated group of trapshooters that compete in this challenging and exciting discipline.
Shale dropped only seven targets in the 100 target event easily winning O/All champion with Bill Eagle tallying another great result of 88/100 taking out 2nd in AA grade. Junior top shooter, Davey Jones from Myrrhee edged out the competition in A grade winning outright on 82/100. Davey was using his nice Beretta DT10 which is a very recent acquisition for him. Local skeet expert David Jackel had to shoot off for 2nd place finishing on a commendable score of 88/110. First in B grade was nicely won by Mt Bogong member Doug Sutherland 77/100 with 2nd place by hard working local committee member Daryl Hunt on 74/100. Trevor Bussell shot a great score of 78/100 to obtain first in C grade followed by junior shooter Rhys McGauran 70/100.
Another top day of clay target shooting activities at one of the leading country clubs in Victoria. Another busy year ahead with many shoots on the calendar to look forward to.
